For this videography assignment, I took on the role of director and cinematographer, which taught me how essential it is for every team member to clearly understand the project’s vision. Aligning everyone creatively ensured that the final film felt cohesive and intentional.
Cinematographically, my focus was on creating an environment that felt authentic, natural, and unstaged. I worked with angles, perspective, and hierarchy to blend myself into the space rather than impose on it, allowing the scenes to unfold organically. By experimenting with camera placement and subtle movement, I aimed to capture the quiet rhythm of everyday moments - showing life as it is, not as a set performance.
This project strengthened my understanding of how directing, atmosphere, and visual choices work together to shape genuine storytelling.

For this advertisement project, I focused on showcasing a saddlery product naturally and authentically by placing it in its real environment and capturing it in use. My goal was to highlight the item without forcing attention onto it - allowing the story of a specific rider to guide the viewer’s eye and give the product purpose. Working with a horse brought an added challenge: genuine, unstaged moments are harder to control, yet they became some of the strongest parts of the video. I learned how to anticipate small interactions, adapt quickly, and use these authentic behaviors to enrich the narrative. This project taught me how to balance product focus, environmental storytelling, and the unpredictability of animals to create a warm, believable advertisement.

In this project, I experimented with shutter speed to explore how movement can be portrayed as both energetic and serene within a single frame. By combining controlled motion blur with a sharply captured subject, the image contrasts the rushing environment with a moment of still presence. This technique allowed me to visually express the duality between chaos and calm, showing how motion doesn’t always overpower stillness - sometimes it highlights it. Through this process, I learned how shutter speed can shape emotion, rhythm, and storytelling in photography.
